I've been thinking how it cool it would be to connect two calculators together and communicate with each other. Well now you can....

VOILA! -> TERMINAL-fx v0.1

TERMINAL-fx is a terminal emulator for the fx-9860 that allows your fx-9860G to communicate simultaneously with another calculator or the PC (or any device that is capable of serial input/output). Transmission and reception occur simultaneously allowing great interaction.

I've tested it against my PC using a FXI cable. Works perfectly (click for larger image):

Here's the communication format:

Calc <-> calc: Working? - Not yet tested
Calc <-> PC: Working

Source code: Coming soon!!! - After I push out Rev-FX v0.3. I'll be updating the site documentation soon. :D

Bug findings, comments and suggestions are welcome.

BTW: If anyone is interested, while working on TERMINAL-fx, I've calculated the actual speed of the fx-9860G's CPU: 14.74MHz. Lower than what I expected. But then that means according to those calculator benchmarks by Xerxes, the fx-9860G's SH3 CPU @58.96MHz pwned the HP-50's ARM CPU @75MHz. :roflol:

Awesome, another confirmation that it works.

Now all we need are some RF wireless links to plug into the serial port...
