Hello all,
I created a simple video player for fx9860G SD.
Please try it and tell me if you like it.

That's a GREAT job !!!

And how can I convert my video to this CUV format?

This is really a great start, and this is a wish list:-

- Greyscale display.
- Ability to select which video file to be played.
- Video control -- pause/continue, exit, step, etc.
- Video converter.

Hey Guys,
don't waste your time :-) Yes, it is a nice toy, but this casio should be a tool not a toy.

OMG. The Internet is a good tool, the car is a good tool, language is a good tool. So many things are good tools but it doesn't stop people using them for recreational purposes.

I also like playing games, but I see no reason waste my time looking at small B&W movies without any sound...

Toys are also tool for happiness, life is not all for taking seriously.
Human needs to feed emotion, even wasting some time.
Who can 100% reason 24 hours 7 days a week? (maybe a robot :lol2: )
and who says things must always be 100% something and 0% something? no, they depend on what you need in certain time.
Well, many things in my life are more toys than tools, such as handphone, PC, etc. :iwstupidl:

Hey.. where am I now ???

Hello,
thank you for responses.
This is only a demo player, the video is prepared to be playable (on the calc) as easy as possible.
So the format is very simple - read it in 1KB pieces and each piece is one image (just copy it to the display).
Video is expected to have 40 frames per second. You can replace the video with your own, if you meet these requirements.

Of course I will add the file selection (open file dialog), standard functions as pause, next/back (similar like Winamp has).

But the main thing I am working on is sound. Now I can play sound through the calculator's COM port, the quality is pretty good and there is a room to improve it. But it is synchronous replaying, so there are small (but disturbing) pauses where the CPU is loading next chung of data.
I have to use interrupt routine. (Idea is described at http://www.casiocalc...showtopic=4430)
Then (if everything passes) the soud will be 22KHz, 6bit / sample, mono.
Then I will probably put everything together to make audio+vide player :-)

BTW: Does somebody have any experience with serial communication (transmision) driven by interrupt on the fx9860G ?

Hello,
simple audio player for fx9860G is on my page (http://martin.poupe.org/casio).
It plays standard wav files (must be format PCM, 8bit, mono,22050 Hz).

But do not expect too much :-)
