Hello all,
I created new version of the multimedia player. It supports old formats (of my older players) and also video with audio (movies).
I improved the audio part, it has much cleaner sound and intrusion is away.
It is ready for downloading at http://martin.poupe.org/casio/, sample video with audio attached.

Please write, what do you think about it.

Martin

Don't you think it is possible to mod it ?

It would be difficult. I am not sure, but if I remember it correctly, the old fx9860G and fx9860G SD have different PCB. The new fx9860G II has the same PCB as fx9860G SD II, but the SD variant has small additional PCB with SD slot. Where would you get it (I am not sure how much difficult is this part) ?

Tentatively discovering that the fx991ES chip is of the same family as the 9860 and that that is a programmable chip, led me to consider that if a few links were to be changed that the odd board were added, perhaps a micro SD slot on the side, then the humble fx991ES Casio could set the maths room rocking with a Casio first: itunes storage on a calculator! Now that would do something to inspire interest in maths a bit more! Who was n't interested in music at school, and to have something functionally and educationally useful as well, mums happy so are the kids!

Hello,
I updated the player, so it works also on non-SD models.
To try it you can take a piece of the demo videos (which I provided for the first version) - just take first few hundreds kilobytes (e.g.200KB) of the file, it will work.
